Age 53, Pre-menopausal, with a colon disease, serious GUT inflammation, which is affecting my thyroid and metabolism, not to mention my high levels of adrenal fatigue. Always having to be disciplined to what I can eat, otherwise, my stomach swells up like I am a few months pregnant, with severe, bloating, cramps and pains, that can be so painful. Eating the wrong funs and including my red wine, just increased in the GUT bacteria, inflammation which leads to leaky gut, lowering my immune system triggering bladder infections and kidney infections.

I refuse to accept the fact that when women get to 50+ they get middle-age spread, what bullshit.

 

I had to start making some serious lifestyle changes. I loved my dry wines, exercising regularly, the odd dark chocolate as a treat, and being a total workaholic wasn’t helping my stress levels, and doing a lot of internal organ fatigue and damage.

Health knowledge has been a very interesting subject for me, researching and studying how nutrition and diet for many years, especially supplementing with natural organic products appeal to me, as well as having a wellness clinic for over 10years, working as a kinesiologist practitioner in my clinic, and partnering up with Dr Frans Kromhout (Cape Town) using his organic homoeopathic product range, assisting my clients in weight loss, to lessening or totally coming off chronic medications with medical guidance. Achieving not just weight loss results but also higher energy levels and reducing or totally healing health issues like high blood pressure, IBS, insomnia, water retention, and so on.

The past 3years I gained weight gradually from 56kgs to 64.5kgs and no matter how hard I exercised or changed my already very healthy diet, with the years of stress triggering off an ulcerated colitis condition and serious leaky gut, which played havoc with my digestive system and nutritional absorption functions now starving my body from nutritional substance in return stressing out my adrenal glands, leading to slowing down my thyroid and metabolism. Sick and tired of having to depend on antibiotics to heal my gut inflammation, which I normally don’t even take a headache tablet, I avoid medication, prefer natural remedies, healthy diet and exercise, but this colitis got the better of me. Until a friend said to me she lost 50kgs, going on ketogenic lifestyle eating plan and intermittent fasting, at first I thought it was another new latest diet, and didn’t pay much attention, but after a few weeks with my friend I saw how much more weight she had lost, then decided it was time to research the keto diet. I know many diets I even planned my own eating plans for my clients according to their needs understanding their individual health problems.

Checking out the human growth hormones intrigued me the most, (anti-aging hormone) when doing the intermittent fasting, giving your gut time to rest and heal your digestive tract which was my biggest health issue.

ONE DAY AT A TIME: I started with my fasting, by eating my breakfast an hour later each day for a week. Instead of eating breakfast at 8am, I stretched it out to 10h00 then gradually to 13h00, now getting lunch at 13h00 and my main meal at 18h00. The fasting was easy because most of the fasting period was counted during my night’s sleep from my list meal to my next meal, counting the hours from my last meal until my next meal, I managed 11hours from last evening meal to the next day then gradually to 16hours a day.
